The Crestwood School District is seeking applications for the current vacant position on the Board of Education. An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position through December 31, 2026 and will be replaced by the individual elected to the position (based upon the November 3, 2026 election results) on January 1, 2027.

Persons interested in filling the vacancy on the Crestwood School Board, created by the resignation of Mr. Hassan Beydoun, effective January 17, 2026, should pick up a packet of information at the Crestwood Board of Education, 1045 N. Gulley Rd, Dearborn Heights. Details regarding the position and subsequent steps to follow are contained in the packet of information.

Deadline: Letters of interest can be emailed to Kristan Frizzell, kfrizzell@csdmi.org before 6:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026, Daylight Savings Time.

The School Code of the State of Michigan prescribes that “the remaining members of the board shall fill the vacancy immediately,” “within thirty days from the effective date of resignation.” Questions concerning this announcement may be answered by contacting the office of Dr. Youssef Mosallam, Superintendent of Schools, at 313 274-6320.

Join us today, January 30th, from 4:00–9:00 PM and tomorrow, January 31st, from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. This event supports the Senior After-Graduation Party and helps provide our graduates with a safe and memorable celebration.

Tickets are $0.50–$2.00, with a grand prize of over $500 in cash. The drawing will be held at 3:00 PM on January 31st, and winners do not need to be present.

CHS Spotlight: Students took on the role of secret agents during a hands-on DNA to protein activity, breaking the genetic code from inside the cell’s nucleus. This student-led, teacher-guided lesson showed how copying errors become mutations and brought molecular biology to life.
